Civil War Knitting

2011 marks the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil
War. Knitters in both the North and the South joined soldier's aid societies to knit much needed socks for soldiers. Knitting for the Blue and the Gray was considered a patriotic duty.

I JUST watched Gone With The Wind after Christmas to help me prepare for my upcoming themed tea party! This gives me another idea for decorations... a ball of yarn and needles!
Blessings,
Janeen

Isn't the civil war era captivating! That's a really great picture, too. Hope your needles are flyin'...mine have been in the frog pond lately, lol.
