African Violet Pot

I rescued this African Violet pot from a thrift store.
It now has a home on my kitchen table.

I've never seen a plant at a thrift store! You were lucky to find it. Love the pot.

The violets are bloomin' in my yard! I haven't spotted any Confederate Violets yet.

I LOVE African violets, but have had trouble keeping them ALIVE! I'm getting better, managing to get about a year or so out of each plant now, and even getting them to flower! I am wondering, from your photo, if the stones in the pot, help to protect the plant, maybe in the case of watering??... or are they just for looks? Any tips?
