Television and Radio Scarfs 1950


Who knew we were supposed to crochet doilies for our televisions and radios ? Notice the crochet mat on top of the refrigerator ! No home is complete without these crochet accents covering all surfaces.

    Oh man! I didn't know we were s'posed to put a doily on the 'fridge. I wonder if I ought to clean off the top of it, too? 0.0

    My grandma used to make these for her kitchen and living room; brings back good memories.

    Good old bureau scarfs...love them. Aren't those old pattern books the best?

    I can remember visiting my aunts as a child and they had fancy ruffled & starched doilies on coffee and end tables. I think theirs were tatted (a skill they learned from my Polish grandmother).

    My grandmother had doilies around but I don't know if she made them or purchased them. It does bring back memories.
