Knitters were encouraged to knit for the military after the attack on Pearl Harbor 70 years ago today. Knitting was considered a patriotic activity.

Oh, that's a great poster! I'd never seen it before. Love the "Purl Harder" part.
That is my favorite WWII knitting poster. I have several from WWI but have not been able to find a reprint of this one.
