French Market Soup From Southern Living

There is no date on this old clipping from Southern Living magazine for French Market soup. It requires
2 cups of mixed beans. A pint jar of mixed beans along with the soup recipe card makes a welcome hostess gift.

Your soup recipe sounds very good (and healthy with all those beans)! I must try it some day. I bet it tastes good on a cold day :)

This recipe came out in either 1985 or 1986 and is in SL's annual cookbook for that year. It also has the recipe for the bean mix. Have been making it for my family for years. You can also add a little thyme or a bay leaf for flavor.

It was a miracle I came across this post today. I moved two years ago and misplaced (or - gasp! donated) my 1985 Southern Living annual cookbook, and desperately miss the recipe for the bean mix for this soup. Do you have it?!?! It was a staple for many years - but alas, not the last two. I'd be so grateful to have it again.
